Africa
Day 2007 - Overview:
On Saturday,
26 May 2007, the Africa Club at London Business School
hosted its 6th Africa Day conference at London City
Hall. The School's vision is to be the pre-eminent
global business school, and this conference continues to support
our vision by bringing together some of the best minds and
practitioners in business to help inspire a socio-economic
renaissance in Africa.
This year’s
conference, “The African Century: Transforming
the Continent of Opportunity” aimed to: promote
sustainable business opportunities in Africa, inspire participants
to transformational roles in business and the public sector,
challenge current leadership perspectives and empower participants
with the experiences of transformational leaders from within
and outside the continent. This theme is built around our
belief that Leadership is the key requirement for achieving
major performance improvements in Africa and African organisations.
The conference explored four sub-themes of leadership: Vision,
Execution, Integrity & Governance and Sustainability &
Succession.
