Titi Banjoko, Africa Recruit

Dr T A Banjoko (BDS,
FDSRCS, MSc) is a seasoned and gifted change management consultant
with a clinical background, who has successfully pioneered,
developed and implemented various international developmental
projects with successful outcomes at governmental and organisational
level.
She pioneered the formation
of AfricaRecruit a programme designed to build capacity in
Africa using human capital as a main driver this led to the
formation of both www.findajobinafrica.com
www.africarecruit.com.
The programme seeks to build the human resource and skills
capacity of Africa by strengthening the human resource framework
in Africa and mobilising skills inside and outside Africa
by addressing policy and operational areas. It has also effectively
engaged on the international platform in addressing the brain
drain phenomena with tangible gains.
The project received
international acclaim such as written endorsement and the
active support of The United Nations, African Union and The
New Partnership for Africa's Development. Since then, the
initiative has performed creditably and become a key part
of the NEPAD programme to mobilize quality skills for Africa;
it also received the written endorsement of the Chairperson
of the African Union His Excellency President Olusegun Obasanjo
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. AfricaRecruit
also seeks to mobilise the African Diaspora to investment
in Africa and address policy and operational that will harness
the potential investment capacity of the Diaspora. One of
such avenues is www.africadiaspora.com.
In April 2005 Dr Banjoko
was invited to present at the meeting of African Union Labour
ministers on behalf of AfricaRecruit. She was invited to give
evidence to the House of Commons United Kingdom on remittances
and skills in reference to Africa . The submission has since
been incorporated into the formal report of the House of Commons.
Dr Banjoko was recently invited to join the editorial advisory
board of the International Development Magazine a journal
on topical development issues by the United Kingdom Parliament.
AfricaRecruit is actively involved in various international
initiatives addressing human resources capacity in Africa.
Dr Banjoko has been
invited as a guest speaker to various international conferences
and serves on the executive board Commonwealth Business Women's
Network, numerous African Diaspora organisations and initiatives.
She was invited to No 10 for a reception with Prime Minister
Tony Blair to celebrate the role of Africans in the United
Kingdom (2004). She has appeared on many TV/Radio stations
including CNN and BBC commenting on issues relating to brain
drain, remittances and other developmental matters with features
in the Financial Times and other diverse media publications.
To date, AfricaRecruit
has successfully undertaken and completed several educational,
promotional and technical assistance projects in pursuit of
its mission. The statement quoted below is testimony to AfricaRecruit's
achievements and success thus far.
